The Team

Gian Bacardi

is the wonder kind offspring of the Rumbum Luis Bacardi. Gian is only 19 years old but is already racing with and beating much older drivers on the club circuit, on his way to a pro career. His mentor Matt Plumb speaks with glowing pride commenting that four months ago Gian couldn't drive a stick shift and now he's winning races. With incredible dedication and commitment he's crammed a few years of learning into a few months. It will be exciting to watch him rise to glory.

Matt Plumb

is the quintessential race driver. If it has a steering wheel and tires he can drive it. He's been competing and winning since 1999. Between the Koni successes and the Daytona Prototype he drove in the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2008, Plumb showed his versatility and capabilities as a driver. Matt also mentors young drivers. Among them this year is Gian Bacardi. He has coached and inspired a number of talented young racers. The 35 year old is just getting started making noise and we'll be there to watch his meteoric career.

Nick Longhi

likes to have his picture taken in the winners circle. And he must like it a lot because he has spent a lot of time there. Last year he was the 2010 Legends of Motorsports Can Am class Champion. When he’s not winning himself, he is teaching other drivers about the sweet taste of gold. In fact, he was the Chief Instructor/Director, at the Ferrari Driving Experience. He is a race engineer/development driver/coach for Indy Lights, Barber Dodge Pro Series, Speed World Challenge (Matt Plumb Rookie of the Year), Rolex GT, Ferrari Challenge, Historic, Continental Sports Car Challenge. Adding Nick to the team is a major score for the young and hungry RumBum Racing team.

Bailey Whitaker

is the original rebel without a pause. Some people say Bailey was born with a motorcycle between his legs. A seasoned stunt rider, three years ago he took on the world of high performance motorcycle drag racing. On his very first race he broke a track record and he’s never looked back. In the 50 plus races since, he’s consistently finished at the top of the field. In 2007, he won his class in the AHDRA nationals and was runner up in Vegas in the Screaming Eagle class. He ended up 2007 ranked sixth in the entire world in his class.

In 2009 Bailey made the jump into 200 mile an hour plus Top Fuel bikes. He joined the Rumbum race team and looks forward to the tutelage of master crew chief Blake Gann and setting a few tracks on fire.

Matt Guidera

is a proven winner at motorcycle drag racing’s highest level. With four national NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle victories, 15 AHDRA national wins, and 2 AHDRA Western Division Chanpionships, this former road racer is looking to add to this impres- sive tally and win the overall NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship. With lightning fast reflexes, fierce determination, and a killer instinct, the Loomis, CA rider has all the tools to be in the winners circle.
